Finally, the weather was (sort of) on our side for this months club outing.
Braving the cold morning at Belfast WOW, we set out for a fun-filled wildlife photography session. Everyone was armed with their long lenses in the hopes of capturing some exciting bird life.
Nestled in the most unlikely location, the wetlands were alive with activity, as the tide was going out. We were treated to the sight of a shoveler duck feeding, a curlew wading through the shallows, and most impressively, a hooded crow cracking open a cockle by dropping it onto a rock. Reggie even captured a big metal bird flying through the sky!
We all took up our positions and tripods hoping to catch some of these beautiful birds in action. At one point, only Bobby's bag and lens were visible as he had disguised himself so well!
However, with it still being March, the cold weather beat us out eventually and we decided to call it a day. A well-earned coffee and tray bake were waiting for us at the local coffee shop. Although, we had to wait in Lucas' van for 15 minutes for the coffee shop to open and his taste in music is...'interesting'...haha! Though, to be fair, Korn's cover of 'Another Brick in the Wall' was pretty good.
With our cameras full and numb fingers defrosting with each sip of coffee, we chatted about the morning and lots of other photography related topics. And then realised we had left Bobby behind...his camouflage gear was a little too good...! ( Just joking...he decided to stay on and got some great shots while we were stuffing our faces!)
Another super club outing for the books. See you all on the next one!
